Salt Water (Non-Potable) Tanker in Dubai

What is a salt water tanker used for in Dubai?

Salt (non-potable) water is used on construction sites for soil compaction, dust suppression and wetting site roads. It is not for drinking, and not for mixing or curing concrete. WaterLink arranges salt water through separate partner tankers in 5,000 and 10,000-gallon loads — never in our sweet water tanker.

What salt water is for

  • Soil compaction — wetting fill layers so they compact to spec.
  • Dust suppression — keeping dust down on site and on unpaved roads.
  • Wetting site roads and hard-standing areas.

What it is not for

  • Drinking or washing — it is non-potable.
  • Concrete mixing or curing — salt corrodes the steel inside reinforced concrete.
  • Pools, gardens or villa tanks.

Always a separate tanker

We deliver sweet water in our own sweet-water-only tanker. Salt water never goes in that truck. When you order salt water, a vetted partner tanker delivers it. This follows Dubai Municipality’s rule that sweet water tankers carry sweet water only — and it’s why you can trust the sweet water we bring.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't you deliver salt water in your own truck?
Because our truck is a sweet water tanker. Dubai Municipality's guideline says a sweet water tanker must not be used for any other purpose. Keeping salt water in separate partner tankers protects the quality of the sweet water we deliver.
Can I use salt water for concrete?
No. Chlorides in salt water corrode steel reinforcement; the American Concrete Institute advises against seawater in reinforced concrete. Use sweet water for mixing and curing.
Can salt water be used to water plants or fill a pool?
We don't recommend it. Salt water damages most plants and soil and is not suitable for pools. For pools, order sweet pool water.
Do you supply TSE water?
TSE (treated sewage effluent) is recycled, non-potable water used mainly for irrigation in Dubai. If your project specifies a TSE water tanker, tell us the volume and site and we'll confirm whether a partner can supply it. It is never carried in our sweet water truck.
What is the smallest salt water order?
Partner salt water tankers usually deliver 5,000 gallons or more. Ask on WhatsApp if you need less.
