What “sweet water” means
Sweet water is the Gulf term for fresh, potable water. When someone in Dubai asks for a “sweet water tanker”, they mean a truck that brings potable water to fill a villa tank, a building tank, a pool or a site tank. The Arabic is مياه حلوة (sweet water) or مياه صالحة للشرب (water fit for drinking).
Sweet water supply in Dubai, by potable water tanker
WaterLink runs a sweet water supply across Dubai with its own potable water tanker. We deliver 24/7, from 200 gallons to a full 2,500-gallon load, to villas, buildings, pools, businesses and sites. Typical arrival is about 1 hour.
A tanker that carries sweet water only
Dubai Municipality’s Technical Guidelines for Quality of Unbottled Drinking Water (DM-HSD-GU17-DW2) say a sweet water tanker must not be used for any other purpose, must be filled at an approved filling station, and must be clearly marked in Arabic and English.
We follow that rule. Our own 2,500-gallon tanker only ever carries sweet water. When a customer needs salt (non-potable) water, it comes in a separate partner tanker — never ours.
How a sweet water delivery works
- Send your area and quantity on WhatsApp. A location pin helps, and so does telling us if the tank is underground or on the roof.
- Get today’s price and an arrival time. The price includes delivery. No extra charges appear at the gate.
- The tanker arrives and fills your tank. We message you when the truck leaves. You pay once the water is in.
Which size do you need?
| Size | Litres (US gal) | Litres (imperial gal) | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 200 gal | ≈ 757 L | ≈ 909 L | Top-ups, car washes, shops |
| 500 gal | ≈ 1,893 L | ≈ 2,273 L | Small tanks, cafeterias |
| 1,000 gal | ≈ 3,785 L | ≈ 4,546 L | Villa top-up, portable tanks |
| 2,500 gal | ≈ 9,464 L | ≈ 11,365 L | Full villa tank, pool loads |
Bigger volumes (5,000 or 10,000 gallons) come from our vetted partner tankers, or as several trips of our own truck.
